An afternoon in Fremantle } Perth Family Photographer
Posted on November 23, 2009
Had a beautiful afternoon in Fremantle with Nilofar Walters from FigTree Photography. The place was buzzing with brides & limo’s; tourists, kids, dogs and those funny moped machines going around! Nikki & Darren were an absolutely gorgeous couple and I loved assisting Nils in capturing them.

They seemed pretty much up for anything, so that’s what we did . . . .everything!

Eva & Daniel } Perth Wedding Photographer
Posted on November 18, 2009
My wedding season has officially begun with a gorgeous wedding down in Boyanup (2.5 hrs away south). Kevin and I packed up early and headed down for the day. Eva & Daniel were getting married on a gorgeous estate called Meadowbrooke Estate, which sounds like it’s closing down next year – which is a shame, because it was beautiful.
The Styling for this wedding was incredible. Eva had meticulously planned it to the last piece of lace, and with the kind help of her mother (who managed to create almost everything
) – the wedding came off beautifully. It was all part fantasy part vintage. Eva’s dress was the same . . . vintage look all the way, but the side touches created this gorgeous fantasy flair. I would have never dreamed that someone who cares & trains horses all day would come up with such a dreamy & delicate wedding.
A final mention to the ceremony before the images . . . it was delightful . . . Eva & Daniel laughed all the way through, espcially through the vows. Instead of promising to love, honour and obey – it was more like “well I might learn how to cook but I’m not promising anything” – it had everyone laughing.
Isn’t that how one should always start something incredible in their lives – with laughter and joy instead of solemnity & seriousness?
PART ONE

Now a little from the Ceremony:

Look out for Part Two shortly . . . .

It’s all in the Dance } Perth Events Photographer
Posted on November 8, 2009
It’s that time again when the Dance Company’s start doing their end of year concerts! I love going to them, I love the music, the costumes and the beautiful proud faces of the dancers who are showing off their beautiful skills to family and friends. So many of the dancers from Cathy Crooks Dance Center were in last year’s concert, and so many of them had changed! Taller – so much taller
For all of those waiting to view the gallery’s, please be aware that I am getting through the images as quick as I can, the Portraits are ready to be viewed (click on Clients button at the top), and the password is the same as last year – but if by chance you can’t remember it, just send me an email and I will let you know.
Here is a sneak peak of what’s to come:

A Canberra Visit } Perth Photographer
Posted on November 4, 2009
I went to Canberra to attend a Jinky Art Workshop Retreat, and on Day 1 I was able to spend the entire day roaming around the Australian War Memorial. Many people have asked why I would want to waste a day exploring a museum about war and I couldn’t think of doing anything better. The War Memorial is one of the most beautiful Museums I have been to (and I have been to many in my day
). The Gardens were serene, quiet and beautiful. There were memorials everywhere in honour of so many men & women who fought for something that they did or didn’t believe was right – but did it anyway. My personal connection to all of this is a Grandfather who fought alongside the Australian’s in the South Pacific, a father who remained in the Military Services for 20 years and an Uncle who fought in the Vietnam War. I was also moved to tears by the sad accounts of the women who were caught up in Singapore during the Second World War. How can people be so cruel to their fellow human being?
I apologise to all who might think that this is a wedding and children’s photography blog, because really it’s a photographic journey of my life. . . . . now for some pictures
The Australian War Memorial

The Hall of Memory & The Tomb of the Unknown Solider
The Roll of Honour

A dear friend of mine texted me the name of their relative that went down on the H.M.A.S. Sydney. It was my honour to buy a poppy and place it next to his name.

Who hasn’t heard of Lone Pine? This tree was grown from a seed that a solider from Gallipoli sent to his mother. She donated it to the Australian War Museum.
This was my Grandfather. He was in the American Army Airforce and was posted to the South Pacific during WWII. He worked directly under Douglas MacAruthur and flew Air Recon missions over enemy terratory. He never spoke much about the war except of being shot down several times, hating his boss, getting pnuemonia and meeting my grandmother – a Queenslander.
LEST WE FORGET
