Kites & Kids & Moments in Time }Perth Children Photographer

Posted on June 10, 2011

Sometimes life gets so busy and serious and I decided to take an afternoon with off with my gorgeous girls and fly a kite.

Such a simple excersise that ended up being hard work . . who knew that it’s actually quite difficult to get a kite up :0)

This gets me on to my next topic which is about children & baby photography . . . the best images of children I believe are the ones captured when they are interacting and playing and just being.  I always want to remember what it felt like when my little one slides her little hand into my hand, trustingly and unthinkingly and then looks up to me *flash* . . . that’s the image I will always want to keep forever.  Or when my beautiful newborn baby lay on my bed after her first week in NICU and just looked at me . . . *flash* another image in my mind taken.  Don’t get me wrong, I look at the beautiful “newborn sleeping baby” images and think “aww beautiful”, but then I want to see that gorgeous baby awake and and looking at me with all the wonderment and newness in her eyes.

If this sounds right up your alley, then I am your photographer.

Cartwheels . . . whens the last time you attempted to do cartwheels?
…. or handstands?

Feel free to contact me anytime via email or phone to discuss & plan a beautiful session for your family.

Sunsets & Parasols} Perth Family Photographer

Posted on April 10, 2011

Sometimes the conditions to shoot are perfect and Saturday evening was one of those days.   Riverside Park in Bayswater was redeveloped a little while go and it’s hugely popular with the owners of dogs, because it has a gorgeous dog beach.  Funny enough, the dogs and their owners were there before the play area ws created, but the non-dog owners seem to complain a lot about the dogs getting in the way.  On a summer evening, you can sit at the beach and watch the horses race at Ascot and hoons race by in their expensive hi-powered boats.

I love living in this area.

So to the family that I shot this weekend.  Take two little girls and mix them up with a gorgeous set of good looking parents and you get the most perfect conditions around for a Family & Children Photographer.  I loved shooting this famiy and their beautiful dog ‘Bowie’ (named after David LOL).  I chose lots of random images this time, because there were so many that I loved and it was hard to choose.

He kinda of looks like David Bowie, doesn’t he?

Are they not magical?

The sky was really that blue . . . I promise!  Currently I am suffering from’Endless Blue Sky Depresson’ (a condition that many are suffering in Perth), but for this shoot the sky was perfect.

Spinning and why not?

Look at that light touching their hair – magic conditions.

OK, I slipped in a Black & White . . . but hell why not, it’s my blog!

Yup, it’s gorgeous!

I saved my favourite for last . . . such a gorgeous, beautiful couple.

Thank you to this gorgeous family – I had so mcuh fun! (Although in fear for my life that the mosquitoes were going to carry me away!)

I got the opprotunity to photograph this wonderful extended family at the Mt Lawley Golf Club and it was fantastic!  The occaision was a 50th Wedding Anniversary (hard to image when I’ve only done 14 yrs LOL) and they celebrated it by getting all of the family to be photographed together.

Thank you to you all, it was a lovely way to spend a late afternoon!

I am blessed} Perth Family Photographer

Posted on March 4, 2011

I believe that I am truly blessed with having two of the most beautiful children on Earth.  Am I biased? . . . I don’t think so.  They are growing up so quickly and that scares me – when will they stop being my babies and start being teenagers?  They reassure me that they will always be my babies and I will hold them to that forever, LOL.

I was struggling to get a together image of the two of them, so I whispered in my hubby’s ear to help me out . . . can you guess what he did?

It worked, and I got it.

They are beautiful, special, unique, incredible and they amaze me every single day of my life.

The Evans Family} Perth Family Photographer

Posted on February 24, 2011

Now I should have started with . . . ‘the day dawned clear and bright with hot beautiful skies’ .. . but it didn’t.  We have had a handful of cloudy days this summer and the day that I got to out to the Swan Valley to shoot this lovely family it was overcast and threatening to rain.  Despite the weather, I managed to capture this family and enjoyed doing it.  Unfortunately, a bee sting didn’t help – but it was all OK at the end!

Enjoy!

Your Gallery will be up shortly!!

From baby to child in a blink of an eye} Perth Family Photographer

Posted on February 14, 2011

Everytime I photograph these two children it reminds me of how quickly time goes by.  I have known these two since my own eldest was a year old and now 9 years later . . . . they are so different, so individual and grown up.

2003

I took these of Chelsea when she was 2 and half years old.  The image with her in blue won second place in the Better Photography Magazine.

She was so full of spirit and individuality, her character shone through even then.

2010

Amazing isn’t she?  Her hair is so beautiful and she has the most amazing eyes.

2005

When I first photographed George, he was still in his mother’s belly.  He looks so much like Chelsea and yet such a different personality.

He’s quieter and sweeter but with a cheeky sense of humor.  And honestly, who could resist those baby chubby cheeks ;)

2010

Gone are the baby cheeks!!  He’s handsome, cheeky and loves his mother!

2005

2010

This set of images was blown up to a huge canvas 1.5 m wide and it sits proudly on their lounge wall and looks simply amazing.

As always, Denice it was a pleasure to photograph your beautiful children!

The G Family {Perth Family Photographer}

Posted on February 11, 2011

There is a gorgeous beach near Trigg that is practically empty all the time and makes for the perfect backdrop for photographs . . but . . . and there is a but . . . family photography at the beach is fraught with problems.  Firstly, you need to contend with wind . . . yes it howls here in the afternoon (most days) and as long as you don’t mind your hair looking crazy, then it’s fine!  Secondly, it’s bright and it’s bright until the sun is almost creating the green flash you can sometimes see as it sinks down into the ocean. The West Australia sun doesn’t seem to gently darken . . . no it stays blindingly bright all of the time!!  So you ask, why do a shoot at the beach then?  Well . . .

1.  If you love strictly candid’s & seriously fun shots . . . then the beach is for you.  I tell everyone that brings towels and change of clothes because you’re going to get wet.

2.  It’s Western Australia and it’s beautiful.

I have posted this shot a few months ago, but I wanted to re-visit it, because it’s part of the shoot for this family, and you will understand what I mean about getting wet.

I love the look on Kate’s face!

I do love it though, beach photography  . . . kids just let go and become just kids . . . and isn’t that what I’m trying to capture?

‘I can see clearly now, the rain has gone . . .’ } Perth Family Photography

Posted on September 28, 2010

Once a year I get to photograph these two beautiful children . . . and they become more and more beautiful every year and so grown up!  They are like their beautiful mother – they dance to a different tune – especially the Miss B :)   While we were shooting it became very clear to me that the rain has gone (what little we had this winter) and the sun is out for good.

I’m kinda of looking forward to a little sunshine and a little warmth again!
